Scope of Project:

The project included the “de-construction” of the historic Central Steam Plant and redevelopment of the site as an open grass lawn. The exercised project options included design and construction of new sidewalks and to removal of existing equipment for return to the government. The project also had a substantial amount of Hazardous Abatement including boiler ash, oil contaminated material, asbestos containing gray transite, asbestos containing wall coatings, asbestos containing pipe insulation, asbestos containing gasket seals, asbestos containing boiler insulation, and asbestos containing roof materials. To date, Demo Steam Plant has been completed safely, and within budget. Project is currently ahead of schedule and will be completed by mid-September 2011.
